Lemon and Apple Cider Vinegar???

The best products for your health are usually natural and cheap yet so many people would rather spend their money on medications, doctors, over the counter drugs, etc.

So I want to introduce you to two products that most people don’t even think of when it comes to good health because they are so simple.

When life gives you lemons…

Take advantage of it! Never understood why lemons have been associated with something bad, as the above quote starts with when they are actually very good for you.

Lemons are a great source of Vitamin C which assists growth and development. Vitamin C has a ton of health benefits for your immune system, skin and even cardiovascular. This is due to its antioxidant properties that protects it from free radicals. For a detailed look at antioxidants and free radicals, read my blog post on this subject here.

Lemon in your water acts as a detox and cleansing agent. Lemon water causes you to urinate more but in that urine is citrate from the lemon. Why is this important? Because citrate enhances your body’s ability to flush out toxins in your body.

Warm lemon water also improves your digestion. It does this by helping assimilate the food you eat. This occurs because it supports the HCL in your stomach where food starts being digested.

A good recommendation to incorporate into your daily routine is to have a small glass of warm water when you wake up in the morning with half a lemon.

Since we are talking acidic, let’s discuss apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar, like lemons is acidic. Apples are crushed and blended with yeast which turns its sugar content into alcohol. Bacteria is then added to this concoction which turns the alcohol into acetic acid which is the main component in vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar helps kill bacteria that is why it is also used for cleaning and disinfecting.

Apple cider vinegar helps people with Type 2 diabetes by keeping blood sugar levels stable. It improves insulin function which reduces blood sugar levels by up to 34%.

A tablespoon should be taken before lunch and dinner to assist your body in controlling insulin spikes especially when eating high glycemic carbs.

Some claim that vinegar also helps combat heart disease and cancer although there have been studies that have been inconclusive.

All in all, though, just two simple, cheap and easy to use products, lemon and apple cider vinegar, can give you tremendous health effects. They can easily be incorporated into your daily nutrition plan to enjoy the benefits of being…Fit Forlife!
